Due to the recent lapse in appropriations, the Interdepartmental Tribal Justice, Safety, & Wellness Session 16 in Bismarck, North Dakota, originally scheduled for October 29-30, 2013, has been cancelled.
In 2006, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP) developed the “Interdepartmental Tribal Justice, Safety, and Wellness Session” (TJSW), in response to tribal recommendations to create a public safety and public health environment that reflects tribal governments’ needs; and, to design a communication and education forum to promote opportunities to work together across the federal agencies and with Indian tribes, and tribal organizations.
On October 29, 2013, the TJSW Session 16 will kick-off in Bismarck, North Dakota. This session will be held in conjunction with several other meetings. A preliminary schedule of events includes:
